Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman is sticking around with the organization for a little longer. The 27-year-old agreed to a two-year deal with the organization on Tuesday. Trautman is back after seeing plenty of playing time during his first season in Denver. He finished with 22 receptions, 204 yards, and three touchdowns in 17 games (12 starts) with the Broncos in 2023. Fellow tight end Greg Dulcich missed most of the season due to injury which led to increased playing time for Trautman. The expectation is that Trautman will take a backseat to Dulcich next season. This is a solid move to add depth for Denver, but Trautman probably won't be on the fantasy radar.

Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman should be avoided in all fantasy formats for one last week in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Trautman heads into the final week of the season tied for 38th at the position with Tommy Tremble of the Carolina Panthers with 46.8 half-PPR fantasy points on the year. The 26-year-old has caught 21 of his 34 targets in 16 games played for only 183 yards and three touchdowns with Greg Dulcich (foot, hamstring) missing all but two games in his second season. Since last finding paydirt in the Week 14 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Trautman has hauled in only two passes on six targets for 33 yards and no touchdowns. Stay away from him against Vegas.

We've been saying it all year and hope you've listened. Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman needs to continue to be ignored heading into a Week 17 matchup against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. It's still the case despite the fact that the Broncos have a great matchup this weekend and with the team's receiving leader, Courtland Sutton (concussion), ruled out. In the first meeting with the Chargers in Week 14, Trautman caught his third touchdown of the year, but it came on just two receptions for 19 yards. In two games since, he's caught one of four targets for only 24 yards. The 26-year-old has not been on the fantasy radar all year and will get a downgrade in quarterback from Russell Wilson to Jarrett Stidham for the final two weeks.

Trautman's touchdown catch was his third on the year and the second in the last three games. However, he had only two receptions on the day for 19 receiving yards on his three targets. Fantasy managers shouldn't go chasing him on the waiver wire because he's scored twice in the last three games because of the fact that it has come on only four receptions. In fact, the 26-year-old hasn't had more than two grabs in a game since Week 5. Trautman's floor and ceiling are much too low for fantasy managers to get involved.

Trautman's floor is devastatingly low, and his ceiling is also extremely low for fantasy purposes. He'll have a nice matchup in Week 13 against a Houston Texans defense that has been a top-10 matchup for opposing TEs this season, allowing the third-most receiving yards (739). The Broncos could have some more success through the air this weekend in Houston, but Trautman still shouldn't be a consideration as a streamer at the position, even with six teams on bye in Week 13. The 26-year-old ranks 35th among all TEs with 32.5 half-PPR point on the season. Trautman has only 16 receptions on the year for 125 yards in 11 games and is averaging 5.43 yards per target.

His two-catch, 34-yard performance in last Sunday night's 21-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings was his second-best performance of the season. That's really all you need to know. Trautman has just 15 catches for 117 yards and one touchdown on 22 targets through 10 games. The 26-year-old has come away with zero fantasy points in four games in 2023. He figures to be limited in his involvement as a pass-catcher in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns, too. The Browns defense is the best in football and they allow the fewest half-PPR fantasy points per game (4.6) to the tight end position, including just two TDs all year.

Whenever Dulcich returns, Trautman will see even fewer targets in the passing game. The 26-year-old belongs on the waiver wire in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.

His role was expected to increase as far as pass-catching duties go once the team placed Greg Dulcich (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, but it just hasn't transpired. Even in a lopsided 70-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Trautman was targeted only two times and failed to haul in either target for a donut in the fantasy column for the second straight week. The Broncos offense has looked better through three weeks with head coach Sean Payton at the helm. However, Trautman hasn't been a beneficiary at all, even with Dulcich sidelined. The entire Broncos offense has a great opportunity in a Week 4 game against the Chicago Bears, but Trautman should remain on the waiver wire everywhere.
